Accepted Rules of Christian Conduct
Thank you for your willingness to serve at Emmaus Road Anglican church! As a volunteer, you are a part of a team committed to live according to Biblical teachings and principles as they serve Jesus Christ in the Church. Consequently, we require ministry team members to agree with and adhere to the following:1) Ministry team members are required to agree and adhere to the tenets of orthodoxy central to our life as an Anglican Church and expressed in Jerusalem Declaration. See the ‘Our Beliefs’ page at www.era.church2) Ministry team members are required to accept and adhere to the purposes of Emmaus Road Anglican Church and to engage in a life of worship both corporately and personally.
Without limiting the generality of the above, the following are examples of (but not limited to) inappropriate behaviour deemed by Emmaus Road Anglican Church to be contrary to the teaching of Jesus Christ and His followers as recorded in the New Testament. Emmaus Road Anglican Church does not accept conduct such as:- Extra-marital sexual relationships (adultery)- Pre-marital sexual relationships (fornication)- Homosexual relationships- Substance abuse- Use of pornographic material- Theft and fraud- Breach of trust or confidence- Abusive behaviour- Sexual misconduct, assault, harassment- Lying, deceit and dishonesty- False teachings- Unwillingness to report to or to submit to Church Leadership- Conduct and activities promoting division in the church- Criminal activityThis conduct shall be just cause for disciplinary action up to and including removal from active volunteer positions. Emmaus Road Anglican Church expressly reserves the right under this policy to terminate a team member’s involvement for just cause upon violation of the specific or general elements of this policy.Any exception to this agreement must be noted in writing on this form. The Parish Council of Emmaus Road Anglican Church will approve ministry team involvement.
